Originally co-owned by Clarence R. Koehn Sr. and Clarence R. Koehn, Jr., C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. began in 1946 as a commercial masonry contracting firm located in Nashville, Tennessee. Incorporated in the State of Tennessee in 1963, the Company maintains a State of Tennessee Contractors License #16665. Until the early 1970's, construction activities focused on commercial construction such as military installations, hospitals, churches, schools, and shopping centers. From the 1970's through the 1980's, C. K. Masonry Company, Inc. worked both in commercial contracting and in the specialized field of utility casting adjustment. In 1984, Clarence R. Koehn, Sr. passed away at the age of 84. C. R. Koehn, Jr. slowed bidding on commercial work in the ensuing years, focusing on utility casting adjustment business in Middle Tennessee. In 1996, Clarence's son, Kurt W. Koehn, resigned from a sales management position with a fiber optics cable manufacturer, purchased 100% of the Company stock from his father and remains the sole owner of the Company. C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
CASTING ACTIVITIES (since 1972)
In the early 1970's, C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. moved into the specialized field of casting adjustment for paving operations at the behest of local paving contractors. C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. has maintained contracts with numerous municipalities and paving contractors since that time involving the plating, adjustment, and replacement of various utility structures including manholes, valve boxes, and catch basin inlets. More than 250,000 operations of this type have taken place over the past 40 years ranging geographically from Chattanooga, Tennessee to Kingsford Heights, Indiana.
MANHOLE REHABILITATION (since 2000)
C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. entered into the specialized field of spray-applied cementitious manhole rehabilitation in early 2000, using the Strong-Seal Manhole Rehabilitation System. In 2004, C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. expanded it's manhole rehabilitation capabilities to include the application of spray-applied epoxy resins manufactured by Warren Environmental. Since that time, we have continued to expand our product offering to include the installation of Cretex Chimney Seals and the use of Prime Resin Grout Pumps. Combined, these products stop infiltration and inflow (I&I), rebuild deteriorated structures, and protect against corrosive actions such as hydrogen-sulfide attack on manholes and wet wells. More than 7,000 manholes and wet wells have been rehabilitated by C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. over the past 14 years with 95% of the work occurring in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky.

C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. is owned and managed by Kurt Koehn. Kurt has a degree in Engineering from Tulane University and a Masters in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. In addition to his twenty years of general construction experience, Kurt has twenty-two years of experience in the engineering and business management disciplines.
Scott Kelley has twenty-five years of experience in project management and estimating in the field of water lines, sewer lines, and sewer rehabilitation.
Other team members include twelve hourly employees, six foremen that lead the teams, Truck and Safety Coordinator, Staff Accountant, and Office Manager. Personnel range in experience from two years to fifty years and are cross-trained for the many different tasks associated with the construction services indicated. C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. maintains a fleet of light and medium-duty trucks as well as two Strong-Seal Spray Rigs, Warren Environmental Spray Box Truck, LMK Lateral Lining Trailer and Boiler Truck, two skid-steer loaders, Mr. Manhole System, multiple trailer-type air compressors, forklifts, 2-way radios, Verizon cellular phones, air hammers, masonry mixers, two hot boxes for asphalt, storage buildings, scaffolds, modern office equipment and miscellaneous tools.

Masonry Co., Inc. has been a State of Tennessee contractor since 1946, incorporated in 1963, and licensed with the State since 1977.We maintain an AGLM Unlimited Tennessee Contractor’s License (TN #0016665) with building construction (BC), highway, railroad, and airport (HRA), and municipal and utility construction (MU) classifications for the State of Tennessee. We are a small business vendor (#0050014). Our offices are based in Nashville, Tennessee, and our 2 acre construction yard is in East Nashville.Our major manhole rehabilitation clients include Metro Nashville, KUB, and the major CIPP and pipe bursting contractors that work in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Northern Alabama.Our credit is impeccable, and our continued good relations with municipalities and sewer rehabilitation companies can be verified with references provided upon request.
C. K. Masonry Co., Inc. is normally able to respond to manhole rehabilitation, casting replacement and casting adjustment needs within 24 to 48 hours. Other services are handled case by case, based on the level of complexity, with resources added as necessary to meet the customer's needs. Typically, projects can be scheduled within 2 to 4 weeks. Historically, urgent and emergency service calls are responded to on a same day basis. As a small contractor, we feel that one of our main strengths is our ability to provide maximum response flexibility. We have a proven track record with the Nashville Metropolitan Government, other surrounding municipalities, local paving contractors and local CIPP lining companies.
